Mystic High Council 140 years agoAt the high courts of the Mystic Council, a young elf is dragged bound and tied to the center of the room. Her dark brown hair hangs down about her as her misty blue eyes stare at the floor awaiting the words the Council shall curse her with. Unlike many of her people, she wanted to investigate the other races and learn all there is to know about them. Yet, the Council deems it forbidden to wish such things as they believe most of the races are too arrogant and violent to deal and reason with.
"Raise your head child. So we may see your face. We know of your wish to visit those of other kinds. We have told you many of times young one, that it is not wise to try to mingle with the less reasonable people." The woman stares at the Council unsure of these words for they are not the cold and guarded words that she has been use to receiving. The Council regards the woman who has ignored their warnings over and over. They quietly speak to one another before they seem to agree on something then refocus their attention upon the Elven female. The head Council member, Gurth, nods to one of the guards to unbound the woman.
"We have decided, since you insist you seek out others, we shall allow you to do so as under the Rank and protection of our people." The womans eyes grow wide before she drops emotion not understanding what they had truely decided.
Gates of Higlif, home of the Mystic Elves, 2 years laterShe steps outside of the gates of her city. Never has one of her kind been left alone outside of the gates, for the Mist Tigers roam and protect the lands within the Mist. Very few have ever met a Mist Tiger and came back alive. The point of being left alone out here is for a trial, a test of ones own belief in ones self. She starts walking away from the gates with her cloak pulled tight to her. She wanders for days within the Mist, not entirely lost but the Mist will lead you astray if it wishes. After a week within the Mist leaning against a tree, a growl is heard before her sending her breath caught within her throat. Out of the Mist forms the head then the body of a Tiger. Yet this is no ordinary tiger, this beats is one of the guardians of the Mist, a Mist Tiger. It lowers its head slightly to see the woman better before it speaks.
<Why are you within our lands, Elf? What purpose do you have within the Mist to risk your life?> She widens her eyes but not in fear yet in awe. Standing before her, is a large beast seemingly created by the Mist itself which seems to also resemble the color of her own eyes.
"My great guardian, my people have sent me outside of the gates within the Mist to seek out knowledge and understanding of the races beyond." The tiger nods its head seeing within the Elf that her words are true as is her heart. The elves are trusted yet to the Tigers' the Elves are still children.
<Your kind is wise to send one as yourself. Many we have found wandering our lands, are either too sure of themselves or too filled with a sense of fear.> The Mist Tiger lowers itself onto its stomach bringing itself lower then the Elven woman.
<I, Jikra, shall join with you on your quest. You shall from hear on known as Lily of the Mist, companion of the Mist Tigers.> From then on, Lily of the Mist and Jikra of the Mist Tigers, left her Elven cloak at the gates of her people before taken their journey to the lands beyond the Mist.
