RP Rules and Reg Empty
PostSubject: RP Rules and Reg   RP Rules and Reg Icon_minitimeWed Dec 22, 2010 7:29 am

I'm not really the kind to bitch and moan about this stuff, so I'm going to make these short, simple and to the point as best I can.

First off: No text talk in public. PERIOD This is not up for discussion. If you can't type in full words/sentences you can leave. Shortening words is fine (ie pictures -> pics etc.) but text words are not (ie l8er dude)

A Character Profile is required to be posted in the appropriate forum (coming soon to a forum near you!) before said character can be played. This is so that everyone else can keep track of what's going on with him/her.

All characters should be kept within their time periods (will be listed separately) and having what period noted on the profile is appreciated.

OOC chat is fine and dandy, but should be taken in small doses. When a RP is going on in the chat PLEASE try and keep quiet. A quick Hi everyone is fine, but then you should drop it. If an issue arises that needs OOC clarification go ahead and state it, then drop it and keep going. PMs are wonderful things if you would like to chit chat with anyone who is on. If you do happen to need to use OOC text, make it clearly separate from the rest of the posts. Something that actually has "ooc" or "OOC" or a variant of is preferred, simple parentheses, while loosely tolerated, are discouraged.

Keep everything with an R 17 rating. Since this is a join by invite forum, I'm not expecting to get a whole lot of immature RPers here, even those underage will more than likely be very mature (even if he's a jackass he had to do it Luci Razz). Never the less I don't want porn scenes going on. You can have the character swear, seduce, suck face, even walk around in what God graced him with, but absolutely no sex in the forums. Even if it is tastefully done it should be kept out of the forum. If you want to take it to PM, or off site to MSN or a chatzy Smile cool, go for it just keep it out of the forum and chat please.

NPCs belong to who ever created them, with the exception of general NPCs (The list is to come shortly.) and can be used only by the person who created them unless permission is given other wise. This is perfectly acceptable but proof must be provided if questioned. While this should be obvious, even the most experienced RPer can sometimes slip up and forget this.

Detailed posts in chat are wonderful, they help paint a beautiful picture in the minds of other players...but there is a line that has to be drawn or the other players could be waiting for ever for a single post. There is a character limit for a reason. It's understandable if you have a post that goes over it by a few words, but please try not to post two or more paragraphs for one single post. That is spamming and will not be tolerated. If you want to make several paragraphs in a forum RP, go for it, the forum posts aren't really affected by the length of a post.

I understand everyone has their own style of RP, and that's great! However...there are some 'styles' that just need to go out the damned window. First of all: First person RP is not allowed. Out of character is fine, but if I said something like I draw my sword and ready for battle Then I would be expecting others to think it was Chris readying his sword for battle...not Rogue. So First person RP = big no no. Secondly, Future tense is not allowed either. Future tense is where you say what would happen. I.E: Rogue would draw his pistol as he advanced on the nobles, then he would shout "STAND AND DELIVER!". The only time that future tense is allowed is when you are referring to something in the future " Rogue fell from his horse after being hit in the shoulder with an arrow. Next time, he would pay more attention to who's armed with what.. Moral of the story is, try to keep everything third person, and either past or present tense.

Last but not least, although this is a R rating, for the love of everything holy, use common sense. Do not make scenes overly gory scenes, and keep words that are overly slanderous OUT of your posts.

MODS ARE NOT PERFECTEvery rule you see here is clearly laid out and they mean exactly as they say. If any of the mods or admins (of course right now there's only three) try to enforce something not here, mail me directly! Proof is required however, in copy/paste or screen shot (<preferred method).
